Ryan Edwards as Amonasro

Ryan Edwards has garnered critical accolades for his performances as Amonasro in Aida.  Opera Canada reported:  “For combined vocal and acting honors, Ryan Edwards took top prize.  His was a truly imposing characterization, with a commanding stage presence and forceful singing that enabled him to dominate every scene in which he appeared.”  Reviewing a CBC-broadcast performance, the Vancouver Province had similar praise:  “Baritone Ryan Edwards as Amonasro dominates whenever he sings, for he has a voice that carries the import of the moment.  He phrases his music with an intimate knowledge.”
