Marcello is a wonderful role for a singing actor, and Mr. Edwards has performed it with companies throughout the United States.  The Los Angeles Times declared:  “Ryan Edwards personified fervor, sympathy and style as Marcello.”  The Rocky Mountain News wrote that Mr. Edwards made Marcello a star role “by combining a strong, flexible and eloquent baritone with a magnetic stage presence.”  His performance as Marcello in Franco Zeffirelli’s celebrated Met production was heard internationally on the Texaco Metropolitan Opera Broadcast.
